PortAventura World has announced the opening dates for its two major additions this summer, bringing new experiences to both Caribe Aquatic Park and PortAventura Park.

First to welcome guests will be Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida, opening on 23 July at Caribe Aquatic Park. Shortly after, on 30 July, Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek will open its doors in the Polynesia section of PortAventura Park. 

Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida: Opening 23 July

Theme-wise, the new expansion transports visitors to a sunken ancient pirate bay, blending water attractions, exploration, and immersive storytelling. The headline feature of the area is Cyclone, Europe's first family water coaster, alongside additional water slides, an adventure pool, and a new food and beverage outlet named El Bucanero.

Opening to the public on 23 July, Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida (The Lost Legend) is a major 6,000 m² themed expansion at Caribe Aquatic Park. Styled as an ancient pirate hideout that has re-emerged from the ocean depths, the new zone features a complete line-up of fresh aquatic experiences:

• Cyclone: Billed as the first family water coaster in Europe and only the second model of its kind in the world.
• Bahía Pirata: A world-exclusive adventure pool that integrates a custom aquatic obstacle course with traditional swimming.
• The Crab: A dedicated multi-slide tower housing five distinct sliding routes tailored for families.
• Splash Port: An interactive water play zone featuring low-depth elements engineered specifically for younger children and toddlers.
• El Bucanero: A new themed food and beverage outlet surrounded by integrated rest areas set amidst pirate ruins.

Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek: Opening 30 July

Set amidst lush tropical greenery, the active adventure trail invites guests to explore elevated walkways, rope tunnels, high-level trails, and suspension bridges. The attraction reimagines one of the park’s classic areas, offering visitors an interactive way to experience Polynesia from a completely different perspective.

On 30 July, Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek will welcome its first explorers in the Polynesia section of PortAventura Park. Inspired by Polynesian mythology, where "Makamanu" translates to a "bird's gaze," the 135-metre-long elevated trail is set within an ancient volcanic quarry hidden by tropical greenery.

Designed as an active outdoor trail rather than a mechanical ride, the physical layout includes:

• A central four-storey activity structure acting as the hub of the trail.
• 18 elevated treehouse-style lookout cabins, 20 suspended rope tunnels, and bridges.
• 3 heavy-duty net climbing ladders alongside 4 integrated exit slides.
• A dedicated harnessed rope course for guests seeking a greater physical challenge.

Additionally, a brand-new connecting walkway has been constructed between the Far West area and Polynesia, providing a direct shortcut straight to the entrance of the jungle trail.
